The
Innovator's Page
Letter
of Inquiry
Thank you for interest in applying for a grant as part of the Innovation
Award Fund program. The first step in the process is a letter of
inquiry, which is a short overview of your project submitted for
initial review by the selection committee. This letter, which should
be no more than three typed pages, should contain the following
information:
- A short executive
summary.
- Background
— a brief description of the problem or issue that you propose
to address, including why it is important.
- Project description:
State
the project's principal objectives and expected outcomes.
State the main components of the project or, if it is research,
a brief description of the methodology.
State why the project is innovative; be very specific about
its expected impact on patient care.
Provide a timeframe for the project.
Identify the primary contact/investigator, and list other key
personnel involved in the project. Provide a brief summary of
their qualifications.
State the institution that will support the project.
Estimate the project's costs, or attach a brief budget.
If your letter
of inquiry is accepted, you will be asked to submit a more detailed
application. This would include additional proposal information,
a detailed budget, and supporting documentation. The detailed application
is to be submitted approximately two weeks after your notification.
Letters of inquiry
are accepted on a rolling basis. If you have any questions regarding
the program or the application process, please contact
us.
